There are at least 4 signs, if not more posted

I think it has a lot to do with the amount of congestion and traffic volume in the Telegraph-S Van Dorn Intersection. If the streets were widened to allow more people to turn, less people would find it necessary to make the illegal U-turn. It's a better solution than wasting police officers' time and wasting drivers' time and money.

VDOT cancelled a previously fully funded project to widen the Telegraph from one lane each way to two lanes, due to the State of Virginia balancing of its budget. Since the state pulled the all the funds for the project, Fairfax County decided to at fund a smaller project themselves. The smaller project to redesign the intersection is scheduled to begin in 2013.
