Hey City of Tucson Graffiti Removal Program, you contractor are not removing the graffiti! The NE Corner of Escalante and Prudence still has a utility box covered with graffiti. I reported a single large tag a month ago and now it has at least four. Do you think you and your contractor can get to this by the end of the November?
I'll be curious to know how this goes. We have tags in our neighborhood for 4-5 months with no one cleaning them up even after reporting them and commenting on them numerous times. I've never been able to figure that out. Some tags they clean up fairly quickly and others they just don't. Often if they are higher up on structures or on sidewalks they almost never do which can be frustrating. Sometimes I'll close an issue that has been opened for months even though it's not been cleaned and then re-open it a couple weeks later and that has helped. One time we had an absolutely enormous growing pile of furniture outside an apartment complex that was horrid and it took almost 4 months to get that cleaned up. Right now I estimate that about 80-85% or so of what we report (Garden District) is handled fairly quickly but that last 15-20% can be frustrating. I've started cleaning up quite a bit more myself now that I've found color matches for boxes (Quest gave us several cans that match their boxes) as well as learning what solvents take off what kinds of markers. But stuff on cement or high up or with certain kinds of pens or inks I can't do. So it goes. Good luck out there! It's always good to see others taking an active interest in their community.
