Description

A bicycle carcass has been abandoned here, locked to a parking meter, for about a month and a half. How do we help it get a proper burial or recycling?

That is not the only bike carcass around. I suggest they be dealt with like trees. They get a bright sticker to warn of removal in X number of days and on the day of execution two day laborers take a truck and gather them up. The meter personnel can post the labels (or tickets). What happens after that is up to Public Works.

We usually put on a yellow tag that warns the owner that the bicycle has been classified as abandoned and is scheduled for removal. Problem is it's hard for the Ambassadors to keep track of which bikes have been where for however long. This one we noticed a couple weeks ago and will be removing it soon. Thanks for posting!
