Would the City consider putting signs along Whitney Avenue indicating that riding a bicycle on the sidewalk is illegal? Too many riders are doing so, creating a dangerous situation for walkers.

The law prevails on this one (sorry George) Bicycles are a vehicle or traffic and should not dart from the sidewalk into crosswalks without any regard for traffic signals- this occurs way too often at Prospect and Sachem (byYale Whale) I see YPD officers ignore this as do Yale Security on bikes on the sidewalks.
I agree with George's valid safety concerns, but that's a different issue.
Downtown illegal Yale biking should be enforced. Yale can't teach these kids anything by way of common sense.

Nope...
Common sense seems to be rather uncommon with that lot.
NHPD should start ticketing.

It kinda suspicious and/or sickening actually , Because these Hot Rod Mavericks really blast onto the sidewalk and ride hard and fast , Not at all as if a car forced a genteel gent off of the road , But aggressive and mean..
Reminds me of Jaywalking Court personnel on Elm & Church , dancing in the street then professing that there's a problem with jaywalking etc.

I can understand your concern, but it is real dangerous for bikers to ride on Whitney Ave, cause they have the chance of getting killed by riding on Whitney Ave. or another heavily traveled road in New Haven. I have ridden a bike on Whitney Ave and got run off the road by someone.
Many people ride bikes to work for pleasure and that is many less cars polluting the air.
This is a suggestion to the complainer, try riding a bike yourself.
