Long Timer, how do you know? Perhaps the posts are not in deep enough to keep it down in the event of a big storm? Maybe no waterproofing at the posts into the concrete - even pressure treated wood rots. Your feedback is appreciated even if it is absolutely useless.
Code Compliance made an attempt to contact the property owner today; however, no one was at home. Code Compliance will try again until issue is resolved.

Regardless of what you think, members of a community cannot just do what they want on their property. Your neighbor Tony could have easily pulled a permit, and they would have informed him that freestanding carports are never allowed (especially those that stick out closer to the street as compared to a neighbor's structure), and the side of his home could easily be configured for the same car port. Ease up everybody. Your neighbor stepped over well established lines and sorry for the inconvenience, but he does not live on an island.

He ro she will get a permit, and all is fine. Oh, no permit, he or she is special because it will "look terrific so no need to follow the rules. If allowed, and photos were taken of the work and it checks out then the gov. will ok it. A mistake was made and we all must pay for our mistakes - even if reported by a "rat" neighbor. Rats have value. They keep aspects of life in check.
