Description
The traffic light does not turn green often enough (or long enough) for cars traveling both directions on W. Nancy Creek. This morning at 9:15a even though traffic on Ashford Dunwoody was not heavy or backed up, I sat for an inordinately long time at the red light, headed west on W. Nancy Creek, Last night at 5:30p headed the same direction on W. Nancy Creek, there were at least 15 cars at that red light headed west, and traffic on the other side of Ashford Dunwoody (headed east) was backed up to Old Johnson Ferry (probably 30 cars). I have brought this up before, but since Marist started back to school, it seems the timing of this light has changed (in a very negative way), and I suspect it has something to do with the light at Harts Mill (Marist) which seems to generously accommodate cars entering and exiting the school. PLEASE see if the Ashford Dunwoody/W. Nancy Creek light can be adjusted!!!

The illegal U-turners are not just St.Joe's employees, but visitors to that campus as well as people who cut through the campus from Peachtree-Dunwoody in order to avoid the intersection at Johnson Ferry and Peachtree-Dunwoody. I agree with AnneH, that a physical barrier needs to be added to prevent anyone from making an illegal U-turn or, at the very least, restripe that area in yellow paint to make it clear that crossing that area is prohibited. However, since it's in Fulton County and not DeKalb county all of our postings will not make anything happen unless Brookhaven officials will step up again to convince Fulton County to do the right thing. Additionally, there was mention some months ago that Brookhaven was going to add a sign to Old Johnson Ferry to discourage cut through traffic. I have yet to see that. Richard Meehan, could you give an update on any of this?
