And by the way its not the drivers choice where to unload, the customer dictates that. Dont be so quick to blame the guy who is just trying to do his job and not get run over by an inattentive driver in the process.

How about on the property of the dealership FIND/MAKE the room its easier to say we cant instead of coming up with a better solution how about the large shopping center parking lot across the street oh that's inconvenient. Honda was the worst neighbors and not sad to see them gone they monopolized the street on the side like it was there loading dock. What if we all blocked the street for our own personal interests and convenience???

I wish the solution were that easy, try and find room on that property for a 100ft long 8 1/2 wide tractor trailer. The shopping center is not an option because that property owner will not allow it. We dont like it any more than you do but I assure you it isnt a matter of what is easy, but what is possible. Its just a shame to see people blame us drivers for things we have no control over, if we can get off the street where it is safer for everyone involved we do.

It is not meant to blame the drivers They to are as you said open to a possible danger as well. When and if god forbid something does happen the lawsuits will be many Im sure everyone knew it was dangerous and did nothing to change it

There is no room on either dealers property. Even if you moved all of the cars off the lot. All of the side streets are "No Truck" roads. Some roads are not designed to handle the size and weight (80,000 lbs) of a tractor trailer. Until you understand the physics of driving something that large you will continue to think the answer is to "make room". It isnt possible to just turn a tractor tralier around anywhere. What you think is a "very large parking lot" is not big enough. That also would require permission of the property owner. The idea of the metered spots isnt a bad one but that would be up to Upper Darby Twp not the dealers.

As far as Honda being a bad neighbor I can understand your point. The last dealer was the same way and so will the next one. The issue with that is the zoning of that property.

I have been driving tractor trailer in this area for 17 years and I understand the frustration we can cause. This isnt the only place where this is an issue, we are forced into these situations on Baltimore pike, West Chester pike, Lancaster ave, 309, 611, 202. If you want to have things to purchase, cars, clothes, food etc you will have to deal with the trucks that bring all of these things to you. Trucks carry everything you own at one point or another. We are big, slow and in the way but that is the cost of doing business. I can assure you it isnt a matter of being convienient or being too lazy to find a better way.

Close this. This issue was opened a year and a half ago. Since then one dealership has closed and became a CVS. The other dealer has no other place to offload new vehicles. Unless you have a solution for this issue, leaving it open is a waste of this site. The purpose of the site isn't to complain on end about issues that annoy you but are legal. If you think something about this issue is illegal, call UDPD and get them to stop it. And, don't be a smarta$$. If you misuse the site with these ridiculous issues it will be harder to get solvable issues resolved. Look at 'car hauler' post above for the answer to your 'problem'. Do you have a FIX for this or do you believe leaving it open eternally will change the situation?
