Ugh, that area as well as all up and down New Bern is bereft of proper and safe crossings and thus people tend to cross in odd places and there are no sidewalks anywhere, so please take your victim blaming elsewhere. Your cowardly attempt at mitigating your horrific statements by saying you're PRAYING for them is utterly disgusting in light of your basically blaming people for getting hit. That is gross, these areas need safe places to cross, not judgmental jerks who live in other areas of the city that get better attention with traffic safety.

You have every right to your opinion of my sincerity. But after owning a home directly in this area for more than 40 years. And driving this area nearly every day since. I am quite aware of the sidewalks on both sides of the street.....all the way to the crosswalk.

I have seen young pedestrians "dare" me on numerous occasions.

After living in Woodcrest for years I have experienced countless people strolling across Raleigh Blvd at their leisure. I do feel some of those pedestrians are playing chicken at times. I purpose a physical barrier in the concrete median, maybe some type of fence. This would force people to cross at safe areas. With the apartments right across the street from the shopping center, directing people to proper crosswalks would make things much safer.
