I agree. I am a daily commuter and the station is an eye-soar. The parking lot needs to be repaved and station itself either needs to be historically restored or modernized. It is falling apart. Suffern train station is the host to hundreds (if not thousands) of commuters daily (even more since the hurricane disaster) and it’s horrible that these hard working people have to start and end their long commutes to NYC with a run-down ignored train station. Our taxes are nearly identical to Ridgewood and look at their station (Gorgeous). I understand that these changes may take some time to be approved but a newspaper and food vending machines could not hurt and would be profitable to Suffern. The town of Ramapo is so busy building unprofitable multi-million dollar ball fields and has ignored the heart of the town – Downtown Suffern for, what it appears, decades. Something has to be changed and this is a good start.
