Description
Grand Palms Golf continues to do its landscaping with noisy equipment, disturbing the peace of the citizens of Pembroke Pines and Miramar today, Saturday, at 6:00 am in violation of the City noise ordinance. Time and recorded decibels are clearly in violation of City ordinance. Even the construction of Pembroke Rd complies with City ordinances, but Grand Palms has no regards for the regulations of our City. Does Grand Palms Golf receive preferential treatment from the City as opposed to the other citizens and businesses? The City must address its citizens openly and respond to this complaint publicly in this forum for the benefits of all citizens of Pembroke Pines.

We will be contacting the manager of golf course maintenance & let them know that they are not permitted to begin landscape operations/maintenance until 6:30am.
Normally, the code prohibits beginning landscape operations/maintenance prior to 7am; However, there are four separate golf courses within the City limits & the City has permitted under 96.05 (F) to allow golf courses to begin maintenance at 6:30am.
96.05 (F) Noises associated with uses or activities whereby an Administrator approval to produce such noises contrary to the restrictions of this chapter has been obtained from the City Manager or his designee.
If you require any additional information, please contact John Earle, Code Compliance Director, at 954/431-4466.
Thank you.

This issue persists. It is worse during the weekends when they start working before 06:00.
I just spoke with one of their employees who is currently working a noisy landscaping machine (79db at my house) at 6:45 pm. He has been instructed by the golf course owner got work until 9:00 pm. This confirms that the golf course owner has no intentions of following the law and is likely assured that no action will be taken against them by the City.
I spoke with the police who said they would dispatch an officer if I requested it, but I think their service is best used for security. However I will file a complaint with the police every time they work at these hours.
