You are absolutely right... there is a pedestrian all way walk signal (I find it not in service from time to time... I guess I can write here every time it's not working...)
Even when the pedestrian walk light is on, right turn on read is kind of permitted... when pedestrians are not present, but that's really loosey goosey...
You want to give this input to the Complete Streets Advisory Committee...

To "guest".. A legal right on red means stop, look, and procede with caution. Provided no vehicles or pedestrians are in lane of traffic or crosswalk. This is NOT about pedestrians.and... Pedestrians cannot safely be in crosswalk while Clinton ave has a green left turn arrow.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I totally agree with you... there should be a right turn arrow. Absolutely.

In the 80's this used to be not turn on red Mon. thru Friday 8-4. They removed sign and a few months later replaced it with what you have now, 7 days a week. Never made any sense to me either. Time and Gas waster.

i agree with the no right turn there. people need to slow down in general. why do you think the number of accidents are up? because people are stupid and irresponsible. but, then again, you cant teach stupid!

my suggestion is to install "trip sensors." this would cause traffic to flow more efficiently. not only at this intersection, but washington/hurley/schwenk drive and east chester/flatbush. i mean, really bro? do we really need to sit and wait 4 minutes for a light to change when no one is around?

you have to bypass anyone in any position in the kingston area and go to the president where youwont get any help there either......looking at this issue and all the abandomed houses in this area, we all are barking up the wrong tree... nothing gets done, nothing is disgussed, no tickets or time frames given out to these people so the best thing is to move.... let some other person come in and pay the high taxes and move to a state which there are many that have no one tissue,along the highways, any grafitti, and one home that looks like any in the hudson valley...that is not properly tsken care of, shame , shame...to this area, look at the old pictures when money was scare and taxes were low, the area loked much better than it does now.... good luck to having anything looked into or passed.... the folks voted in these tax paying seats are looking threw rose colored glasses or just dont look... good luck to all... that write into this clix - fix....

This intersection is part of the traffic study to revamp I-587/Albany Ave/Broadway intersection. So anything really significant will probably have to wait for that to be funded and implemented - which will probably be a few more years.
