My bike was stolen last year out of our side alley on Nash St. Unfortunately, bikes are stolen around here all the time. You have to use a U-lock, a heavy steel thing that can't be cut through. Run it through your rear wheel, the bike frame, and a parking meter or other un-movable pole; then use the heavy cable to weave through your front wheel and into the U-lock. If they take the time to cut the cable, they are only getting your front wheel and not the whole bike or your rear wheel (much more expensive to replace). Any questions on how this is done, visit the folks at The Devil's Gear on Orange St, or College Street Bicycles on College, or any bike shop of your choice. They'll know what to do. I reported my theft to the police, and they took all the info over the phone, then gave me a record number. Keep your eyes open for your bike being used by some stranger - there are stories of bikes being recovered because the owner recognized some punk riding it. Call the police asap and give them your record number if you see this, they will come and get it back for you (but you have to keep the punk and bike in eyesight). Bikes come and go from the back yard of 17 Nash street at a rate that exceeds the number of people living there. There are only 2 bikes, one is white, there at the moment plus a brown exercise machine . When bikes go missing, maybe its a good place too look.

Unfortunately, at the moment, there are only 2 bikes, one is white, plus a brown exercise machine . When bikes go missing, maybe its a good place too look. You can access the yard by way of the parking lot behind 23 Nash Street. Just walk in the driveway in between the yellow house and the blue house.
