We West Oaklanders have got to pay close attention to the Mayoral campaign leading to the 11/4/14 voting. Our new Mayor's #1 PRIORITY SHOULD BE to clean up the 1.2 mile stretch from the Emeryville border to Grand Ave along San Pablo Avenue. As long as the candidate offers concrete plans for a place to house the "street people" so that unhealthy, drug addicted, mentally unbalanced, homeless people are not just littering San Pablo Ave and its side streets; and provides funding to keep this area clean, I'm pushing a drive (going door door) throughout West Oakland Neighbors, West Oakland Green Initiative (WOGI), West-Oak High School Athletic Booster Club for him or her to win; gotta make sure WHOMEVER is elected Mayor addresses THIS area of Oakland first and foremost.

City of Oak apparently robo signs issues closed with some regularity, which is shocking as it means that they are making false statements to the public via SCF. Why would they do that? I haven't a clue.
Check this one: https://seeclickfix.com/issues/1260546#new_comment You can clearly see that they Robo-closed it - then I had to re-open that turned out to be a false statement. After I shamed them on this, they cleaned it up over the weekend - but today we have a new sofa farm that rendered the area more or less the same as this picture.
The City refuses it seems to do the logical thing which is to just patrol problem areas and spare the citizens time to report the obvious, which would also give them relief from the ire of angry taxpayers/citizens. That is sure how I would run operations if it was my department - less work! Less Tax payer costs.
I brought this matter to Libby Schaff and Joe Tuman's attention thus far - Libby expressed her shock as well - though I have no idea if anything will change or if a mere Mayor has the power to change this apparently broken system.
PWD does this all the time, Bennett, in hopes that nobody cares enough to call them out on it. Illegal dumping and tagging are costly problems, and I can appreciate that they lack resources to handle everything immediately, but it's even worse for them to lie about things.
I am concerned Anon about your comment that O does this "All the time". I am compiling evidence to present in a report to hopefully get the City to commit to removing those responsible and engaging the community with integrity and transparency; ideally allow workers to have a dialog with the citizens that are supposed to serve as an added bonus. Time will tell. Could you kindly let me know as to any other SCF case logs that you know of that can provide this proof. Thanks.
The office of the City Auditor conducts audits of most City of Oakland departments. You can request an audit specifically for the requests filed via SeeClickFix and the Call Center. That will get you all the statistics across the board.
The more people ask for these audits, the more likely that they will happen.
