We have lived at the bottom of Bergen avenue for close to 7 years. We love Kearny and we are happy to be raising our two under the age of five children here. The problems we are faced with are not only people blasting their radios, blaring their horns and cursing accompanied with road rage at ALL and I mean ALL hours of the night, the fire trucks that pass here at LEAST 3 times a day AND 3 times a night blare their sirens and horns when they get RIGHT in front of our house!! The entire house shakes and best of all my ENTIRE FAMILY is woken up at all hours of the night and during mid day naps. We KNOW it's a very busy intersection but is it necessary to be that excessive on the horns and sirens? Maybe a short horn and the lights would be suffice in the middle of the night? I know the situation can at times be an emergency but people do live, raise children, pay rent/mortgage here and like to sleep so they can go to work in the morning!
