Description
I'm a member of the property committee at the Church of the Holy Comforter, at Monument and Staples Mill, in the city. We have a pole light on our property, which is presumably intended to provide security lighting, but the amount of light it produces is not effective. I'm assuming the light is provided by the City, as it takes the form of a utility pole with a fixture about twenty feet up, and wires running to it that are similar to those running to nearby street lights. Due to some recent problems we've had with vandalism, we'd like to look into upgrading the light, so that it is brighter. Please let me know what our options are. Thanks.

The lighting on your property is not a City light. The City only lights up streets and alleyways. You will need to call Dominion Va Power (1-888-667-3000), and have them increase the wattage in your light or add more lights to your property. The lights on your property are probably added to your Dominion bill.
If you are interested in upgrading or adding lights on the street or alleyway, you will need to contact the City's Technical Services Division, Ms. Moses at 804-646-8541. Sorry I could not resolve your issue, however any questions do not hesitate to call, Toi Harrison 804-646-8555.
