I would say the 2-way conversion has been a disaster so far. I was really dreaming of this solving traffic issues in downtown, but this hasn't happened.

Backups I see every day:
- Traffic wanting to turn left onto Market from Central now backs up all going straight on Central St., since that lane is the only straight lane, and has to yield to those coming from Merrimack
- Market St. gets backed up at Central St. because there is no right turn on red, and on green traffic has to yield to pedestrians crossing Central
- Market St. traffic heading towards Dutton gets backed up by Leo Roy garage because anyone turning left into garage cannot be passed from the single lane

I've seen no improvements.

Oh, and when is the bump out by Brew'd Awakening getting finished? The roped off pile of bricks has there for how long? 2 weeks? Longer?

I just a car turn left that is having a stright arrow and no turn sign lol and cop is parking up the street we need to enforce it before someone get hurt

A few points need to be observed in addition... There is ongoing construction staging in front of 2 Merrimack St. This has to be the reason the street did not receive the signage and street marking as planned - All of which would have originally indicated a no left turn zone.

Maybe they can complete the work when the staging is dismantled at a future date.

An earlier view of the sidewalk - I'm fairly questioning whether this was removed for the construction of a single lane going towards the Eastbound section of E. Merrimack Street. This could mean that now there is no area left for placement of a signpost with the no left turn sign.

Final entry for now .. One last observation I've now noticed .. the street marking on that section is done ..

Drivers can only go "Straight" through at that intersection.

One more note: Upon further research I found there was a street marking which was not painted ahead of the arrow.
The marking indicated in the Plan photo shows the directive word " ONLY " just ahead of the straight arrow.

Summary:

1] The Painted word "ONLY" is missing ahead of the Straight arrow now painted on the street.
2] The " No Left Turn " sign is missing on the Sidewalk.

Left turns are now allowed from Merrimack Street onto Kirk Street and John Street, but still prohibited from Merrimack onto Bridge Street."

Although that does not directly address your issue. I agree that the "no turns" sign is kind of odd and not as helpful as the red NO with a left arrow.

Just crossed that intersection a few minutes ago. Car in front of me gave signal and turned left. Other than the arrows on the lights, you cannot see additional markings. If a left turn is prohibited, signage must be improved. For the record, I don't see the big issue turning left onto Bridge St as being anymore problematic than turning left onto Central after coming from Bridge St.
