Description

When the Elementary School was under construction several residents of the neighborhood approached the board and advised that if a school was to be built, roads needed to be widened and sidewalks installed on the north side of Elm Street from Rt. 2 overpass. The only portion of Elm Street that was "replaced" was a small stretch right in front of the school and this area was not even done correctly as EVERYTIME it rains that portion of the street floods. As a resident of Elm Street over the last 3 years I have had to pay over $2,000 in repairs to the suspension of both of my vehicles...and it is not because I speed (trust me I don't even go over 20 mph on any of the streets in the northside of Painesville because of the horrible conditions). We have seen the city repair and replace streets on the south side of the city that didn't need any work done. Sometimes it feels as though because our side of the city seems to be more of the lower income families, hence less tax revenue, that we get ignored. It is time that something is done about thi.
