Description
There is a large, uncovered hole on the property in front of Thomas Edison Elementary School in Antioch, TN. I reported the hole about 2 years ago, but nothing has been done. It appears to be related to a drainage system. It is dangerous to children and animals. The grounds have grown up in the last couple of years, but the opening is still accessible and visible from the road. You can not see the bottom of the hole, even in the daylight. I do not want to see a child being pulled from that well-like hole in the ground on the national news.

This issue has not been resolved. A representative of Metro Nashville Public Schools inspected the hole, at the request of the principal of the school. He was also astounded at the ridiculousness of this situation. He dropped a rock in to the hole. He counted to 10 before he could hear the splash of water. I don't have to tell anyone what would happen to a child if they were to fall in to this hole!
According to the representative, the hole is not on school property, Apparently the land beside the driveway of the school is privately owned. I was not there when the principal and the MNPS representative investigated the complaint. I would like to think that someone would be looking in to who owns the property and who needs to be correcting the problem. However, it has been six days since the complaint was made. The hole is still uncovered as of today. This situation is a tragedy waiting to happen. If it is not covered by tomorrow, I believe the media should get involved.
