Yerup - sounds about right. A problem all over New Haven! Get in line! :/

Sorry but the police will do little about it. I have a police scanner and they are more interested in
DUIs and Domestics, both of which are a big issue in NH..

Catch speeds of 60+ here daily. Agreed that we need more enforcement in New Haven.

Unless you have a radar gun, how can you assume these vehicles are actually going 60MPH???
Ben (Admin)
Well it is an assumption but I feel that I can generally estimate car speeds as I've seen the number on the speed sign on Humphrey Street as cars pass. Regardless, they are going well over 25 MPH.

Without the more specific data on enforcement, it will be extremely difficult to request action and track progress on speeding enforcement at a neighborhood level. All of the neighborhood management teams have been requesting this since 2008, but progress was nonexistent between 2008 and 2010, and is now being held up because our traffic division currently has no staff. See http://www.newhavensafestreets.org/2011/09/coalition-receives-response-from-mayor.html for details.
