DC doesn't actually do anything with 311 complaints, they just let them sit for about a year and then mark them closed" without explanation.

I post violations because it's therapeutic and I like to hold up my end of the deal, but in terms of actual solutions, keep your expectations in tune with the people who work for the district.

I only report issues because the first question I'm asked when following up via other channels is if I used 311 first - and they do have a point that nobody can reasonably expect unreported issues to be resolved. I made a similar report that got an offensive response, and then a promise from the agency director to do better - but no feedback after that. If the acting director of DDOT has blown it off again, even after it was written up in the Post online, I'd like that tracked and noted. ;-)
