This looks like a papasan chair frame (a bamboo chair frame). I like the name of 'Human Nest' because it is kind of like a nest when you sit in it.

My be these nests belong to Loons. Oakland has many types of Loons and some climb trees. The ground nesting loon is the most common.

Looking at them again. They are most definitely chairs not nests of any kind. Unless someone made them into tree houses
