Thanks Crystal. The issue isn't that the JCIA isn't emptying on scheduled days, but that between each emptying, the receptacles become full to the point overflowing onto the ground. Have you any suggestions on how this can be dealt with? There used to be a can across the street from the one in this photo. Can that one be put back? There is a lot of foot traffic on Van Vorst, and on the whole stretch between Essex and Sussex there are only two receptacles. How about one on Morris? What do youThanks.
Email a summary of the situation and where you think a receptacle is definitely needed, once inspected and upon availability we will install. My email address is ccf@jciaonline.org
Also the trash receptacle next to the Grove St. Path station (next to the new construction by 50 Columbus) overflows within 2 days after the scheduled trash pickup by the city. By the 3rd day afterwards, the trash is spilling onto the sidewalk and street.
I will keep this up as long as it takes to get more trash receptacles. I sent a list to the JCIA, but nothing yet. When Paulus Hook has more cans, I'll take it down.
Thanks to Councilwoman Candice Osborne, Alex Habib, JCIA Trustee, JCIA, Interim Director John Minella, DPW Director Mark Redfield and the Mayor's Office for stepping in to help make our sidewalks and streets WAY more clean. Yes, there is more private trash being placed on corners for pickup, but our sidewalks are generally more free of litter. The whole neighborhood, and the HPHA thank you all!

Hi Crystal,
Sorry I'm responding to this so late. I will forward you a list of locations that the HPHA put together, ordered by priority. Thank you!
