Description
Transcients have set up tents on the CalTrans property which borders the apartment building ( on the south) and 580E (on the north) . They are located behind the Walgreens Store on Telegraph and 34th .
They have a history of stealing bikes from our property, burglarizing our vehicles and defecating on our lawn. Please evict them now.
We don't want a "repeat" of the summer of 2013.

Tenants pay a large portion of their salaries to live in a clean, quiet, friendly environment where one can sleep peacefully and walk outside without constantly looking over our heads and checking to see if our bikes are still here or if the car has been burglarized. One guy was undressing or getting dressed in the open air. We have children in our building. One was already caught peeping in an apartment window. Will we be fighting fires next?Or filing police reports for burglary?
We are active participants in our Neighborhood Watch Program and really doing our part to be safe.
We trust that Caltrans and other involved agencies will help us by doing their part as well. Please evict the transcients from our neighborhood.

Maria: we had same issues on the I-580 SB Fruitvale exit ramp. We successfully got them evicted a couple of times, w/help from our council member's office; ask your CM Lynette Gibson-McElhaney's staff to contact CalTrans on your behalf: Zac Wald (Chief of Staff) ZWald@Oaklandnet.com
or either Brigitte Cook: BCook@Oaklandnet.com or: Casey Farmer CFarmer@Oaklandnet.com - both Community Liaisons. Good Luck!
