For several months now, wood elves have been tearing up trees at night. They go back to their cubby holes before the sun comes up but leave messes where ever they were harvesting/eating the wood.

That sound very messy! ;-)
I still have my daughter's Leprechaun trap she designed and made for her second grade St. Patrick's day class project. It was very creative and was guaranteed to trap a Leprechaun!
I'm not sure if it will work for elves also, but if you want to try it, I'll let you borrow it.
