Description
Pieces of an automobile were left on the corner after a recent accident. As far as I know, the city requires that whoever cleans up the accident cleans up everything. And as we can all see by the photo, whoever cleaned this accident up had no interest in doing their job, nor any respect for our neighborhood.

Thank you for posting this. I, too, would like to hear from someone in the City about whose responsibility it is to clean up accident debris? Once the police have taken care of the people and the paperwork at the scene of an accident-- are they supposed to make sure the debris is cleaned up?
We continue have had a number of accidents at the Edgewood and Ellsworth intersection and accident debris often remains. I reported accident debris on SeeClickFix back on March 23, 2014 and some of that debris *still* remains on the side of the mall. I have written to my Alder who in turn contacted the Department of Transportation, Traffic, and Parking. However, I have not yet seen a response.
Here's the earlier issue.

Its time for the Chief to sit down with his staff person in charge of the patrolmen to hold a seminar if that is what's necessary.
If this keeps happening it is easy enough for internal affairs to track back to determine who the irresponsible police officer is...and take the necessary action.
There really is no excuse for this to keep happening.

I just saw this article and photo from another car accident in New Haven. The photo and caption is of a home owner picking up debris from that car accident.... So clearly this issue extends beyond the accidents right here in Edgewood.
