Description
I-94 at approximately mile marker 245.5 has 2 abandoned weigh stations, one for each direction of travel. The buildings were removed 15 or 20 years ago. Last year when I counted, the state had 13 signs that either announced the weigh stations or stated that they were closed. With the lack of truck stops and available truck parking between Port Huron and Detroit, these areas should be paved for commercial truck parking.

Macomb County has virtually no truck stops for transient drivers to pull over and make a rest stop. With all the interstate and state highways, Macomb handles plenty of truck traffic, yet forces fatigued drivers to travel without opportunity for rest. Macomb County is the only county in southeast Michigan without any sort of rest area facilities.
Perhaps this issue is better addressed to the State of Michigan, as the county might not have any say in the matter.
