There has been nothing done with the graffiti on the building. How do y'all close these? Once they hit a date then you close them so they can look as you attempted to fix? Please help, just trying to help the whole block look better.
Carver resident, we appreciate your response to the issue closure and your stewardship of the neighborhood! I closed the issue because we were hoping to obtain more accurate information about the graffiti location, but it wasn't forthcoming. It would be great if we had the manpower and resources to proactively locate and eliminate graffiti, but for now, we can only target those incidences that are reported specifically.
I gathered from your comment that 703 N Harrison is, itself, a graffiti location and not just an epicenter for graffiti instances, as the initial description here might imply. I have started the process of obtaining a waiver form from the owners of the building, so that the City can clean the graffiti off of the private property there. We can leave this issue open until 703 N Harrison is cleaned off.
Lastly, I'd love to discuss alternative strategies for addressing graffiti in Carver with you. If you'd like, give me a call at (804) 646-1062, or email me at matthew.toner@richmondgov.com and you can bring some more addresses to my attention, or even schedule a time when we might walk the neighborhood together recording instances of graffiti and the addresses where they occur. Interacting with City Residents to achieve a positive, productive outcome is by far my favorite part of my job!
Thank you! - Matt Toner, MPACT Coordinator, 9/16/14
