Description
When southbound on Broadway the street merges into one lane at Congress St. There is no warning to the motorists on Broadway that the lanes merge. This causes confusion and traffic right-of-way issues, especially given the large influx of tourists in Saratoga. Since the left lane merges into the right I would suggest a merge sign highly visible to the traffic in the left lane just south of Spring St.

As near as I could tell as of this evening (8/9/2011) the situation has not been addressed. Cars enroute to an event at SPAC were backed up in both lanes south bound on Broadway disfunctionally attempting to form a single lane south of Congress St. The original merge sign is still where only a bird watcher would look.
A Mr. Fred Weeks had added a cryptic note to my original post regarding his opinion of what he surmised were my driving skills. "The Saratogian" printed a substantiating article in the news paper wherein the City said it would investigate the issue. Other than that I am not aware of any action taken as of this point..
Thank you.
