Thanks for reporting this issue. We need the community's help to solve these incidents. If you have further information (car license, color of car, description of person or people doing the dumping) please call the Non Emergency Number 203-946-6316 and use this incident's CAD # 141680520 to help resolve the issue. We will pick up the items when we can.
The problem is most of the dumping happens at night, and this is a business district, so people aren't around. Can the NHPD increase patrols at night to deter this? This is a recurring problem, and will remain so until there is more enforcement/punishment.
We are trying to track areas in order to establish where there is a pattern of illegal dumping so we can look at ways of monitoring those locations with tools such as cameras.
Lloyd Street between Chapel and River Street should definitely be a priority if cameras should be installed, especially with all the activity generated by the boarded-up city-owned buildings on River. Those buildings are constantly being broken into by people looking for scrap to sell. Please consider this area seriously.
