City of Brookhaven City Manager's Office assigned this issue to Brookhaven Department of Public Works

As a member of the Cambridge Park Civic Association I can say that Rebecca Chase WIlliams has shared with us that they are planning on addressing the cross walks from our neighborhood at both Kaddleston and Waddeston streets going to the Publix and Kroger when they redo the AD/JF intersection. I agree this cross walk should also be addressed, as it is very confusing if an individual is standing waiting to cross here or waiting for the bus. Additionally with the addition of the food truck nights and improved Blackburn Park it would be much safer to walk from our neighborhoods, too.

Thanks Anne, and please thank Rebecca. But waiting 3-5 years for the intersection redo can't be acceptable to the CPCA can it? ("... they are planning on addressing the cross walks ... when they redo the AD/JF intersection"). Upgraded and lighted ped crossing signs can be installed in less than 60 days, once approved.

We are working on adding Rapid Reflecting Beacons (RFB's) at these crosswalks on Johnson Ferry and Ashford Dunwoody as part of the improvements we are making at the intersection this summer. The RFB's for the YMCA crossing have already been ordered and should be installed in the next 4-6 weeks. We are working on the approval on the other 3 crossing locations at the intersection and if approved, should have them installed in the next couple of months.

I think we should eliminate one of these crossings. They are to close together and one is sufficient, two interferes with traffic.

I disagree with you Yankee. Pedestrian access to the park should not be hindered or restricted in any way. Maybe even put in a third cross walk a little further down near the cleaners. Pedestrians Rule! and cars will just have to be patient and wait an extra 20 seconds.

The YMCA crosswalk's RFB is about two weeks away from delivery. The Ashford Dunwoody at Cambridge Square, Johnson Ferry Road at Waddleston Dr. and the Johnson Ferry Road at Kadelston Dr. all were approved today. They will be ordered and installed in 4-6 weeks. Thank you for your patience.

Betty, please know I am a big walker and bicyclist ( so I guess I qualify as a pedestrian) In all seriousness we can walk 30 feet to a single crossing. when crossings are so close it is just stop & go causing havoc.

The goal is to "move" all traffic--pedestrians, bikes and cars. It is dangerous especially in heavy traffic to try to look over and around backed up cars to see of a pedestrian is one of the 4 curb spots,

When someone is walking a 1/2 to 5 miles for exercise or commuting whats is an extra 30'?

I park my car 200' feet from the Kroger just for the extra exercise when I drive there to shop.
