Description
Although the corner (Laskin & Gay Dr) drainage issues have been fixed, the drainage ditches down Gay Drive are overgrown, full of standing water and mosquitos...they need to be dug out to permit proper drainage from the residential houses down the road to the corner drains. Photo shows one of the ditches full of overgrowth and other things clogging the ditches. Ideally, proper gutters should be installed like other neighborhoods in the area but if that is not possible, these ditches need to be dug out so the stagnant mosquito-laden muck in them is removed.

Public Works reports the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has paved the Laskin Feeder Road at Gay Drive. They also regraded the ditches where they were blocked at the inlet to the storm drain system at the very north end of Gay Drive where it intersects with the feeder road. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact Mr. William Haggerty, of our Engineering Division, at 385-4576.

We have been watching the progress and things now look good. Thank you for helping resolve this and bringing it to a successful close. Still need to have the ditch cleaned out further down into Gay drive but that's another issue. Again, thanks for your assistance. have a great day.
Cheers,
Gerrit
