Description
Valley Forge Rd. & Caley Road. Why can't PENNDOT plain down the hill at this intersection so traffic in each direction can at least see each other - this would make this intersection safer. Traffic flys on Valley Forge Rd. which is posted as 35mph.

This intersection needs to be address ASAP. Upper Merion Township foolishly desires to put their Community Center at that location which would include the Senior Center. Senior need and deserve a save location. I am all for a Community Center it has been far too long; But this is another pet project like the Farmers Market. Why would you remodel a dinosaur of a building that needs so much renovation? Knock it down and start over. The savings in heating and AC savings alone would pay for it.
My understanding is that a traffic study is being done and a traffic light may be installed. If that is the case, it is esential that the hill be planed down so traffic in each directions can see each other. It is a disgrace that Upper Merion Township has not addressed this issue previously, especially with Caley Elementary School so close. What will it take????

I agree with you bb. But the reality is that people will not obey the speed limits. Not sure of the cost to re-grade that intersection but the township could apply for grants to cover it especially since the local will now be the new Community Center location.
I just want safe roads for my family & my community.

that normally adds 6-12% to the cost of a project for what 1 bike a week that might ride on the trail were already into a bike trail from hyser park to the betzwood bridge

The suggestion to plane the hill at Caley & Valley Forge Road is an excellent one. It would be nice if people slowed down. Thye fly on that stretch of Valley Forge Road.
All traffic to the proposed Community Center should be filtered away from Valley Forge Road. A traffic light at that location would also be helpful to at least slow down the speeders along that stretch of Valley Forge Road since the Upper Merion Police apparently are too busy to address this situation.
