Whether you like it or not, we have codes. As a new Dunwoody resident, I am so thankful to live somewhere where something will be done about it. As a long time resident of unincorporated DeKalb, I was bothered by many residents' lack of care for their property. It really does hurt everyone's property value. I am thankful that someone took their time out of their life - make no mistake they do have a life - to bother protecting the rest of our property values.
It would be easy to forget how good we have it in Dunwoody. Please take a ride through some of the unincorporated parts and you may feel differently.
I am all for Dunwoody looking good and keeping values up. I just do not understand what the difference is of having a boat parked in a driveway and a car that is never driven. Does the code specifically state: "No boats in the drive-way"? Can one have a merely a trailer in the drive-way? Is it ok to have the boat visit on weekends?
Per City of Dunwoody Zoning Code the parking and outdoor storage of trailers, recreational vehicles, travel trailers, campers, pickup coaches, motorized homes, boat trailers, boats and similar vehicles and equipment is prohibited in street yards and within 20feet of any lot line. Zoning 27-205 b5
No inoperative or unlicensed motor vehicle shall be parked, kept or stored on any premises, and no vehicle shall at any time be in a state of major disassembly, disrepair or in the process of being dismantled. IPMC 302.8 Motor Vehicles
