Description
This segment of Ponce de Leon has no sidewalk. This area has frequent pedestrian traffic, especially MARTA passengers disembarking from the eastbound Route 120 at Idlewood Road. These MARTA users must frequently wade through thigh-high or waist-high grass to get to the crosswalk to get to the sidewalk on Idlewood Road.

The process to construct new sidewalks is listed below:
Sidewalks can be constructed along public streets in unincorporated DeKalb County by a petition. This program establishes what is known as a Residential Sidewalk District. Under this program, sidewalks can be constructed with the approval of 51% of the property owners abutting those sidewalks.
You will need to contact the transportation Department at 770.492.5206 or provide your name , address, and phone number for a “New Side Walk” Packet to be mailed out to you.
A sidewalk tax assessment is used to pay for the costs of the sidewalk installation.

You know, over a year later and I still find this to be an unacceptable answer. How are you going to get CSX to agree to the sidewalk installation? There are some sidewalks that just need to be installed for the greater good of DeKalb County. There are some sidewalks costs that just need to be shared amongst all of us.
If the county makes a special case for CSX when it comes to code enforcement on grass cutting, then the county needs to make a special exception for CSX when it comes to getting CSX approval on installing a sidewalk.
