Description

Last night as I was driving northbound in the right lane on Interstate 787, I saw an officer had pulled over a vehicle near the Route 378 overpass. There were a few vehicles very far behind me at the time, but there were no cars directly next to me.

I had been traveling approximately 55 mph, but then I slowed down to around 45 mph, turned on my left turn signal, then moved over to the far left lane, in accordance with New York State's new "Move-Over Law".

The vehicles far behind me could CLEARLY see my brake lights and that my left turn-signal was on, and that I was moving into the left lane due to the police officer with lights flashing, having pulled over a vehicle on the right shoulder.

All the vehicles behind me, however, continued on, going the same speed they were driving before, without slowing down or moving over to the left lane, as is required by law!

Then, after I passed where the officer was pulled over, I turned on my right turn-signal and prepared to move back into the right lane where I was before, but the vehicles all boxed me in and wouldn't let me move back over to the right lane, thus almost causing an accident because they hadn't slowed down and came up too fast behind me on my right side!!!

This type of aggressive driving needs to be stopped!!!

I thought the officers were supposed to ticket drivers who don't slow down and move to the left lane!

And what's worse is when these stupid drivers don't allow vehicles in front of them who HAVE slowed down, to move back into the right lane after passing the officer!!
