Description

You are headed East on Hobbs Rd. when you approach the light at Bailey Cove Rd. If you turn right, or left, how would you know you are in a school zone? There are no signs indicating such, so when travelers who are not familiar with that zone come through, they have no idea and could easily speed and receive a ticket for something they are not aware of.

Vehicles heading eastbound on Hobbs Rd drive past an "Advanced School Warning" sign just before getting to the intersection, this is a reminder you are still in the school zone. When turning either left or right onto Bailey Cove to travel north or south, "End School Zone" signs are installed at the end of the school zone.

Yes, and the city would make a ton of $ if they would sit on Teenajo with a radar gun. Every weekday morning I make the northbound turn and travel 25 mph in the left lane. Every weekday morning I am passed on the right by vehicles moving 40-50 mph. Of course, the city only has 5 days left to cash in on my observation...

Thank you. Traffic Engineer reviewed this before sending it to HPD. The signage is correct and there is nothing further at this time that HPD can do. Drivers should make every effort to observe all signage especially while nearing a school Zone.

HPD can enforce the speed limit. I suggested sitting at Teenajo with a radar gun.

Yes, HPD can issue speeding citations and have over the last two weeks written over 12 citations and will continue to monitor this area.
