I have contacted the WPD 3 times recently beginning Mid April concerning noise disturbance from UNISOURCE on Helmsford Way it abuts our residential zone in Walden Woods. The trucks are running their engines at all hours day and night. I visited the site and saw this to be true and spoke with one of the evening crew workers. Apparently the engines, as I was told, run to environmentally clean themselves. This process and procedure last approx. 45 min per truck as it sits in the bay and leaves to be replaced by another. The noise is unbearable, and is impeding our everyday/evening life. The reving of the engines which are unmanned sounds get louder and louder as it runs. For myself and others it has become a health/safety issue for our well beings. Please note that this is the third time that I have contacted WPD who have been most understanding and will continue to assist us. I am also putting the ISO NE building on this complaint as I called in to WPD tonight. ISO is a new building that is running computers inside for monitoring electricity and is a backup for the Holyoke site. This building is even louder with large coolant systems continuously operating. The fan system is located inside of the building and sounds similar to an airport with large fans/drumming/humming and vibratiing the earth upon which my building sit. It causes my bed to vibrate. It comes through my kitchen area as well.. I can no longer sit on my back deck because of the horrific continuous noise. It can be heard clear across our neighborhood,. I did stop by at their security bld. and gave my name and a number to contact me. as I am on of the Board of Directors here at Walden Woods. You may reach me by phone if you wish. They run all day and night and is devastating to have this harrowing experience within our community. I will continue to contact you to keep you informed. I have contacted the Windsor Health Dept. regarding Unisource and will be doing so for my ISO complaint as well. It is unbearable to live here with ISO who I believe has truly violated their plan to be here in Windsor. Unisource has been here for many years. Our problem with then started when they started using different/newer trucks.
