Have you spoken to the city police or by law about it?

theres a sign at the drive thru anyway saying that its NOT the entrance and to go around. Apparently people either dont care or cant read.

Lol. Tim Hortons coffee isn't even very good. Those fools who line up for it are just silly. The police just need to start enforcing the laws around all the Tim Hortons instead of sitting inside of them.

This isn't a question of 'they need a faster drive through'. YOU ARE NOT TO ENTER THE DRIVE THRU FROM 2ND AVE. **PERIOD** It's plain as day, printed in red and white on a HUGE 4x2' sign. EVERY morning, I drive to work, and it's lined up, very often past 16th. People race me to the bottom of the hill, just so they can get into that line up. I've had three close calls with people who line up. I'll be the one honking my horn all the way down the line. PAPS needs to do something about it, they don't I don't expect they will, as I've seen patrol cars in that same line up.

city needs to make it a red zone. no stopping at all .cops don't need to be there to make a parking ticket students looking for summer work can do that. take down plates numbers and anyone caught sitting in red zone on 2nd ave gets a ticket. tims gets to stay open so they keep there jobs a few students get a summer jobs and when people start getting tickets in mail learn not to block 2ave

I think maybe the cops should be leading by example, they shouldn't be parking on the street to go to Tim Hortons either!!

Never a shortage of customers at any of the Timmie's...time for a 4th one, perhaps with a HUGE parking lot and lots of room for drive through traffic? In the meantime, anyone sitting on 2nd Ave waiting to turn in should be ticketed, as should the ones who sit and block the driving lane over at Cornerstone...why are the police not there giving tickets out, ALWAYS? What a great revenue stream...think of all the things the city could do with the extra cash earned from tickets!! :)

it would be up to PA's City Hall.. they approve the marketing plans for these places.. it's allowed by city hall; Timmies isn't to blame, they were given the green light... it's all in the marketing and $$'s in the 8-) GW Coffee is still MUCH better; line up is decent and service is awesome.. Should start supporting local business's anyway ... the franchise will accomodate if their steady traffic decreases... take back the ball n' make a play Prince Albert...

I don't understand the fuss. I have been in that line and also driven by it on my way to work. It is not that big a deal. You can clearly see the cars waiting in line. There is more than enough time to make a right hand turn onto 15th street after that entrance way into Timmies.

Practice some patience people. How quickly would you enter that lane to make a right handed turn even if there was no one waiting in that line?

If you are so scared of that line which seem silly to me then pick a different route.

I would not want to see your lack of patience in a city that actually had traffic problems, and or long line ups in turning lanes etc.

The police?? HAHA...the other day and truck with trailer STOPPED on 2nd AVE just before the turn into Tim Horton's...the line up from the drive thru was ALSO coming onto 2nd AVE.... I had to stop, lay on my horn... and then swerve around these idiots blocking traffic....not to mention the guy in a truck...stopped, no blinkers....just pulled over ...the beauty of it was he was stopped RIGHT UNDER a traffice sing that says "no stopping tow away zone".... and guess who was behind me?? a city police officer... I thought for sure someone would get a ticket..either the idiots blockin 2nd ave from Tim's OR the guy stopped under the tow away sign.... NEITHER ONE... I WITNESSED the cop turn his head, look and keep driving!!!!!!!!! I was already too far to get the cop's car number or I would have reported HIM to the police for not doing his job..... the cops here are such a joke!!

First of all, that sign is just that ... a sign, its not an official sign from the City or City Police, and 2nd of all, what would the police fine these drivers for ???? For being in a line up??? When you go to a concert at credit union centre in Saskatoon, are those ppl being ticketed for entering and leaving a business?? The City APPROVED that location for Tim Hortons, and lining up in the parking lot to get in line only slows the line down even more. Its the Citys responsibility to fix this issue, and closing the entrance isnt an option !!

Traffic flow is more important than lazy ppl getting their double-double. Last time I checked, obstructing traffic was illegal, having to park your car, get off your butt, and walk in to buy your coffee was not. Typical selfish PA attitude.

lol - this is funny :) I'll do you all a favour and make a special stop at a Tim Horton establishment (of which I don't because I prefer GW) and I'll report a complaint to the Manager alright :) I'll inform them that there is a post on paNOW regarding their business and that community members are very discouraged with them. I'm not sure if anyone is able to take some of thier pent up anger and actually address the situation; but I will take a stand for all of you ok :) call it assisting my fellow citizens...

Now if this is surely an issue, of which I totally agree is a real one, then do something about it on behalf of yourself - no one of importance is adressing these issues on these forums - otherwise the repeated complaints would be dealt with.. Trust me, the Mayor is probably just tossing em' all under the rug as usual.

On your way to work today, off to lunch, home or if you don't even work, get up, get out and pay a Tim Horton's establishment's Manager a visit. Address your concerns verbally and maybe follow it up with a written complaint copied to the City Mayor, Development Office and Herald/News. It might actually help release the pent up anger towards one another, and move forward with some results.

The public expects their police to be professional, ethical, and accountable at all times. Most probably are, but some are obviously less scrupulous. Maybe the city should levy some heavy fines on Tim Hortons, and if they can't reduce their traffic problems, then build up the curb and close the driveway. Prince Albert is not the only city with a Tim Hortons drive-thru problem.

Here is a novel idea... Instead of complaining on this web site which has NO ability to fix anything, go to www.citypa.ca look under the "contact us" tab and you will see a link that says "report a problem." When you fill in that form, then someone from the City actually addresses your concern and will get back to you on what can be done about the problem. If enough people report this as a problem to the City, then they will likely make it a priority to resolve.

ps. this applies to any City issue. Contact the CITY people! paNow isn't going to close a drive thru or put up traffic lights or fix your pot holes.

That's a great idea Jenn S, so why not use both PANow and the City complaint form? That way anyone wishing to read this website will have a rough idea of the things that bother residents, while the City can work on addressing the more formal complaints.

i strongly agree with you. somthing has to be done about that.my job is to trasport thing around pa and when i get stuck with people parking on the street @#$% me right off!!!

leave the 2nd ave as an exit only!!!! and have a few officers around there at peak times! Give them free coffee, and a 6 pack of donuts, and let them ticket people!!!!!!

If the 2nd Ave entrance is closed then all the coffee junkies will be lined up and blocking the right turn lane while they are trying to get into the lot from 15 Street.
I agree its a pain in the butt to try and get by there in the morning but the other way would be worse.

The one in Cornerstone is just as bad. I have observed police cars waiting in the lineup that is blocking traffic from getting out of the Wal-Mart parking lot.

at the very least, please make it an entrance only. Specify that it is not an exit, Cars on the street that are waiting for the drivethru should have their emergency fourway flashers on. Right turn signals should be only for the use of the intersection. I got stuck in that lane one car too late because i thought it was going to the corner. But it stopped before Tim's and had to wait for a car to exit(onto 2nd) from the middle of the approach.

i drive past there alot its always backed up during breakfast, lunch and dinner. atleast 3 cars backedup onto 2nd, 7 times outta 10 theres always someone traying to exit and cant see past the cars so they edge theyre way out. people always go around the cars to turn right cuz IT IS a turning lane, and almost hit people exiting the lot. perhaps mabey something a bit more drastic and just block it off or use the lot next to the store to expand the drivethru/parkinglot??

perhaps those vehicles are not stopped for Tim's but for turning right on 15th, but traffic is blocked due to some driver not knowing the rules, or just wanting to get into the inside lane right away... so everyone is backed up.

that would be a perfect defence for a ticket.

also, that big sign faces the wrong way at Tim's... if you are a couple cars back, you don't see it. And the "No Stopping" sign doesn't apply cause you are not stopping, you are just stuck in traffic

oh... and I was just in the one on Marquis and I can see that one being worse for the traffic in the parking area. the drive through makes a perfect knot!

and there will be traffic issues on Marquis also with people trying to turn in one both entrances.
