Description
Flood control valve at the Freshwater Pond hasn't been opened during heavy rain. The Town over the years stated that they would open the valve to prevent flooding of Fresh Water Brook. The last couple of heavy rain storms as well as today the valve wasn't open. Note! Gradually Fresh Water Brook has been filling in with silt and vegetation since 1987 when it was last dredged making it a necessity to open the valve to prevent flooding as far as Palomba Drive..

But the rain in Enfield has been only a half-inch?

With the water level in the pond already seasonably low wouldn't an open gate drain too much?
