Thank you for reporting your concern. The City of Canton is responsible for the traffic signals at this intersection. An extra 10 seconds was added on 4/18/14 to the specified light reported. Unfortunately if drivers do not reach the traffic loop within a certain amount of time after the driver in front of them, the loop will gap out causing the green arrow to change yellow. This is a common problem due to drivers becoming distracted with cell phones, etc. and not paying attention to the light. I tried to thank you for the quick response last week but, because I'd submitted this anonymously, couldn't figure out how.

Unfortunately, I drove through this intersection today and am not sure anything is different! Leaving the Kroger parking lot to cross Marietta Hwy onto Prominence Point Parkway - I was the first and only car at the red light. The light turned green and I started across immediately -- and only got a little over 3/4 of the way across, I'd say, when the light turned yellow! I am not a particularly slow driver. This just isn't enough time (especially given how LONG the green light for Marietta Hwy is) !
