The city does not have any building permit associated with 2656 Drew Valley Road. There was a building permit that was approved for 2465 Drew Valley Road, which is a corner lot located at the intersection of Drew Valley Road and Ewing Drive. Staff has reviewed the approved building plans associated with 2465 Drew Valley Road and has confirmed that the height of the proposed residential dwelling will not exceed 40 feet in height, which is the maximum height permitted for single-family residential dwellings. Per the city's ordinance, specifically Chapter 27 (Zoning Ordinance), the building height is to be measured by taking the "distance measured from the grade (the average elevation of the ground on all sides of a building) to the highest point of the coping of a flat roof; to the deck lines of a mansard roof; or to the mean height level between the eaves and ridge of a gable, hip, or gambrel roof." Based on the approved building plans, the dwelling will incorporate a hip roof and therefore, the measurement of building height would be measured from the average elevation of the grade to the vertical average height of the roof. The height of the structure would be 38 feet and be in compliance with the aforementioned height requirement.
Regarding the issue of the building being three-stories, additional field verification will be implemented before final comment is to be provided by staff. Thank you.
This issue has been acknowledged by the City of Brookhaven and is being investigated for resolution. Your service request ID is 1055000. Thanks for reporting and please check back here for additional updates about your issue.
To my knowledge it has not gone anywhere. From all that I am hearing thru Nextdoor contacts and other people I speak with, it won't go anywhere…the amount of demo and rebuilds in the neighborhood probably has the city govt overwhelmed and they can't begin to keep up with all the code violation complaints. I bet they could keep 2 full time inspectors busy here in DV for the next year! We are on our own…
SeeClickFix service request audit initiated. Issue ID 1055000 still in ACKNOWLEDGED status. Submitted request to Code Compliance to provide status update.
As previously mentioned on May 5, 2014 - The building plans were reviewed for compliance with the 40-foot height maximum. Upon review, planning staff has determined that the residential dwelling was in compliance as the height of the structure was found to be less than 40 feet.
Again, please note that 2465 Drew Valley Road was reviewed as there is no building permit associated with the address at 2656 Drew Valley Road, which was identified as the subject property of this complaint.
Their is nothing to resolve. The max building height is 40 feet from the front door threshold. Their is no home anywhere in Drew Valley that is close to 40 feet in height. Get a life!
