Description

I'm just wondering who in the world thought it was a good idea to change the lanes from two lanes on each direction to one lane with an interchangeable turn lane down the middle? This does not work, I drive straight down Dekalb ave/Decatur st. every morning to get to work and it's quick, it works because I drive in the left lane to pass everyone turning right off these streets. This is a complete joke for people who actually stay on these streets. I'm now going to have to sit behind everyone who turns right at the Hill st. intersection instead of driving past them in the left lane.

Not to mention that this morning, I had no idea this had been done, so I can around the corner where dekalb ave turns into decatur st, and all of the sudden the middle lane I was in, turned into the interchangeable turn lane with someone sitting in it! I almost had an accident. It's now also going to take 20+ mins to even get onto Decatur st. from the parking decks at Jesse Hill Jr Dr. intersection because there is no left turn signal to turn onto Decatur st, meaning two cars turning left at the most get through the light.

Were these changes seriously studied because I very much believe this is going to make traffic worse, and I wonder if the people who decided these have ever even driven on this street during rush hour. Thanks a lot for making my commute even longer and more stressful.
