Description

This is the site of Wat Lao Buddhapathip. This Buddhist Temple holds several festivals during the year where it's an extreme disturbance to the surrounding neighborhood up to a mile from their location. Several neighbors have politely tried to talk with the leaders on the premises along with off-duty police officials. Each time we are ignored and turned away like children. Tonight I was told that there is nothing I can do because the church is well-connected with government officials, and that Mayor Karl Dean came out today for the festival. The church leaders also have been paying off owners of homes directly across the street from the temple. These owners have now opened up their lawns as parking options. It's hard for us to believe that this establishment is not breaking noise ordinance laws in a residential area. We can hear the lead singer amplified over a microphone INSIDE our homes ONE MILE away. I would really like this to be seen by the mayor since I was told by government employees that there is nothing I can do because the church is paying everyone off. Any help would be appreciated. It is 10:15 at night and I can still hear the band rocking out like they are in my backyard. I guess I'm going to throw a party in my yard, with a band, and hire off-duty police officers to make it okay.
