Considering my sewer line is in line with the sewer pipe that discharges into the main line on the street, it is possible that my sewer pipe has a break underground in that area, causing the erosion and the sinkhole under the pavement.
It might be prudent to further investigate prior to the repair with a sewer camera to prevent damage after repair and that may cause a back-up of sewage into my home.
