The road is just tore up. especially around the Piedmont exit and entrance ramps. its heavily transited by DTA and all sorts of traffic as a cross town cut through.
With winter on the way,, keeping access to 3rd from superior st along 21st ave needs to be a priority. kids walking to school,, seniors on poor sidewalks,, handicapped,, high traffic on and off Piedmont,, and the DTA connectors,,, snow stacking,,, and poor sidewalks,,, way bad.
How about on of those signs that read :MINNESOTA STATE LAW- stop for Pedestrians,, and the yellow lines in the crosswalks along Superior st/ /West End -Lincoln Park business districts. and then enforce the jaywalking laws,,,
Again the re-painting of a road that is in serious disrepair. The slip shod road repair, where the holes are not blown out,, the tack not used and just slap asphalt into the hole,, and then not even rolled so now there is even MORE bumps and rough traveling. The sidewalks need to be installed and pedestrian crossing pads for handicapped folks as well. This is a serious problem in this neighborhood.
*I would like to THANK the City of Duluth, and all of the folks involved in the repair of 21st ave west, for addressing this issue". It was done in a very timely manner and considering all of the traffic, both on foot, heavy carriers, intersecting DTA bus lines,, local town traffic, etc.It was done in a very unobtrusive way, it caused no significant inconvenience, to normal traffic or to what businesses that are left in the neighborhood. The road is a 1000% better now.everyone in the area has commented on how much better it is driving here in the west end. Ive seen an increase in traffic in the area in a positive way since this was conducted. almost immediately. People would seriously avoid the area mainly because of the road. It was terrible for a very long time. It has really left me thinking about the real economic impact roads make to a business districts. From what I have seen in this case- it is detrimental to the economic health of this neighborhood. And now as the road is fixed,, I am sure there will be less tear on the police vehicles and EMS vehicles as they continue to clean up the neighborhood. Great Job and truly truly appreciated. >>>*Many many Positive comments from everyone for getting this corridor fixed! >>Ill now remove this as remedied, corrected and improved. Thanks for getting this done.
The road has warped following the replacement of storm sewers.
Pot holes cover the street and damage car rims on a daily basis. There is no safe way to access houses on this street.
