storms drains are long and narrow and will accept a bicycle tire causing a nasty accident on a busy bridge/roadway

  That bridge is so narrow, I'd just ride on the sidewalk. Sure its illegal, but I'd rather get ticketed than be hit by some car becuase the lanes are so narrow. Yep, the storm drains could swallow a bike tire with ease.
