Issues: road safety

Stop for Pedestrian signs at this and adjacent intersections are continually destroyed by cars. We keep asking for new ones, when they're installed, they last a week or two at most. Please get the city to install more robust "stop for peds" signs here. Or at least re-install the missing regular ones.

The pedestrian signals at this corner have been terrible ever since 14th st. was redone. People almost NEVER obey the pedestrian signals because there is often a "no walk" signal when it would be fine to cross. For example, there is a no walk signal when you are trying to go east/west across 14th at Kenyon even when the only cars with a green light are coming west on Park, where they are forced to make a right turn and head north on park. Pedestrians should be able to cross. Additionally, when the light for north/south traffic on 14th is green the pedestrian signal to cross over Kenyon street is "no walk" for the majority of the time, even though that is one way traffic. It doesn't make sense at all and pedestrians have quickly figured that out. No one trusts the signals and so they go whenever they want. I've seen people almost get hit or hold up traffic on multiple occasions. These signals need to be revised!

1100-1200 Block Of Euclid St. Nw Washington, DC
Traffic (especially east bound) on this block of Euclid is routinely 10-15 MPH over the speed limit. It makes the street very dangerous for residents, esp. the many children on this street, and for ped. trying to cross at 12th street.
This street needs traffic calming -- speed humps, a 4 way stop at 12th street. Like Porter St. in Cleveland Park, this Euclid needs measures to slow down the folks the treat it like a race way.
Sherman St And Girard St Nw Washington, DC 20001
This is a dangerous intersection for pedestrians. There is no light, the crosswalk is barely visible to cars, and cars rarely stop for pedestrians here.
During rush hour you can often see neighbourhood kids standing in the meridian waiting for an opening in 30mph+ traffic. Its only a matter of time before one of them is hit.
A cross walk light would be ideal.

The markings on the speed bump in the photo (located on clifton Street NW between 13th & 12th Streets) are faded & do NOT give adequate warning to approaching drivers so all day long, every day, drivers are hitting that speed bump & damaging their cars. That speed bump needs to be repainted quickly!

The utility cut at 2814 13th ST,
New City Development Property, was not properly repaired. The asphalt in the street has created a speed bump requiring drivers to slow down to pass. The concrete sidewalk was repaired with asphalt.
This location has been this way since January 12, 2012. I attempted to contact the developer but my calls were not returned.
