snowplows been MIA for two years Archived

A snow storm last week and two in one day last night and I've never once seen a snowplow. A sorry shame since this ISA eavilu trafficked street including tricks and buses

  Since it is now July, this issue is no longer applicable. However, in the future, if there is a snowstorm and you have not seen a plow go down your block within a reasonable amount of time after the snow has stopped falling, send CB14 an email at info@cb14brooklyn.com or give us a call at 718-859-6357, and we will work on it right away.

  The only way we can know if this issue has been fixed is to wait until it snows again next Winter.

Unpaved NYC Bus Stop Sidewalk Open

Nyc Express Bus Stop ( Bm1 2, 3, 4 and B103 Buses). Cortelyou Road at East 19th Streeet - City Council District 40

The bus stop is unpaved. The landlord was required by the City to pave the required footage from his property line to the street. The City now must pave the remaining three feet from the paved sidewalk to the the street curb. When boarding a bus at this stop riders must walk through up to 10 inches of mud, dirt, ice and snow to board buses. This location also does not meet the required accessibility guidelines for disable riders. The conditions at this stop would never exist at a Manhattan bus stops.

  The bus stop has not been fixed. I was told that the city will give the property owner a violation to repair the remainder of the sidewalk in front of the bus stop. I was also told, by a representative of Marty Markowitz's Offce that if the balance of the repair must be done by NYC...it will be done "later" this year. When I exrssed that this resonse wasdisappointing, thta I'd reported this problem more than two years ago, I was sharply told that I had just reported the problem to them and they'd done all they can do at this point. Further , they would get back to me when they received further information from NYC.
  
  Perhaps if representatives of Mr. Markowitz's Office had to walk through this mess or risk bodily injury to board buses, this condition would never have existed.

  In response to my earlier complaint I received a May 20, 2011 letter from Sandra Chapman, Director of Community Service Center, Office of the Brooklyn Borough President's Office, to which she'd attached a copy of a May 10th letter from Joseph Palmieri, Borough Commissioner, NYC Department of Transportation. Commissioner Palmieri stated the Sidewalk Management Unit had inspected the site and issued a Notice of Violation to the property owner. Further the letter stated that if the repair was not done NYC Department of Transportation "may add the location to a city repair contract latter this year".
  
  One year and 8 months later the sidewalk has not been repaired! When I sent the first request the Landlord had already installed an new sidewalk adjacent to his property line extending the required feet towards the street. It's now NYC's responsibility to install a sidewalk the remaining 4 feet to the street.
  
  This unacceptable!
