I also think that all of the lights that have a countdown timer should all turn yellow at the same time. Some of them turn yellow after it counts down to zero and others count down and then wait a few extra seconds to turn yellow. This is really frustrating. Let's be consistent!

yes i agree...the lights in this city realy suck...there was a time when they were all on timers and were syncronized that when you got one green light and were driving the speed limit they would all be green for you as long as you stayed on that street but if you turned you have to wait for the cycle to start over for that street...back then the man in charge of the lights was paul marion and man he did a great job at keeping them in line he'd drive and check them weekly to make sure all was good...but now with cut backs??...the went to the sensors and if you dont stop at exactly the right place they dont work...many people stop to far back and some to far over and they will not pick you up.....sometimes its due to the snow in the center of the lanes...but i would vote for going back to the old way for sure!!...another thing, some lights have the count down, at least on these we know when the light will be changing...but on the others we dont...they do change fast when you dont know...maybe this causes some fender benders??....

If they could coordinate the lights traveling west on 15th Street and put at turning arrow at Central and 1st Avenue it would reduce the amount of traffic trying to turn south at 2nd Ave. The turning lanes are already there! This would be really helpful in the summer, also when there's a traffic accident as it would allow 2 additional easy routes to travel south up the hill.

The bridge really needs work going North. What's going to happen when someone loses a tire from the potholes? Is City Hall going to pay for those repairs because they are the ones that are spending money in other places besides fixing roads.
Also, where is the bridge going to be in 10 years if they don't fix it right the first time? People living North won't be able to get home or nobody will be able to visit our beautiful lakes.

Lol, good point but you might as well go in a closet and complain to yourself. This council is oblivious to anything overwhelmingly obvious. The bridge could definetely use some resurfacing as well as concrete baracades that are not crumbling and maybe a coat of paint, that 20 yr old hospital mint green paint makes me dry heave a I pass under it, but really it fits in with the whole theme of this crap whole we call p.a. Good luck getting that bridge some attention, we got about 80% of the city that needs a complete road resurfacing, not to mention 80% of all alleys need to be rebuilt and redone. Last I checked it was a $50,000,000 back log of road work, which seems like a low estimate considering alot of places in p.a no longer have curbs anymore(grass grown over them). Lets build another soccer centre then.

I see the recently upgraded concrete barriers are crumbling away to the point where the guard rail is falling down on one side. I've never seen that happen in any other city, why is it happening to our bridge? I think it's seeing more use than one bridge can handle. Sure we're only 40,000 people but our city also provides the main access to industry and tourism the north. The government should take that into consideration when it comes to funding.

FYI I Believe the city does not look at this site. Would you with all the bashing that takes place. If you want something done. Go to the city and tell them. I am sure they would be happy to hear a concern. I believe it is Monday nights. Just get your name on the list take this idea to them and I am sure the would be more than perceptive to hear you out. The City definitely should have put a turning lane there in the past. Now that the property is being developed and a business is being built, there is little room to build a turning lane. SaskPower has main power line feeders that run out of the sub-station on 6th Ave and run to the North along 6th, and branch out down 15th. To relocate a couple of those Power Poles to build the turning lane is no easy fix. From what I see, the only way to do it would to be bury large portions of the power line which is easier said then done. I use to work for a Utility is Alberta in power line design/construction, and just to relocate the power line could easily cost upwards around half a million. That's not including possible costs that may incur from Sasktel, Shaw Cable and SaskEnergy depending on how their facilities are affected. It makes you wonder on how much it would have cost to secure the property for the turning lane prior to developing the property.

@ rhapsody : i totally understood what you ment... and again i say that "separate right turning lane" Causes more problems then not, more people get cut off, people walking get hit, and more accidents occur using that lane more than any other lane in the WHOLE city.... this is why i said it causes more problems then not... and if we were to put on there the lane would be holding traffic up going onto 15 because 15st traffic would have to be more careful for the stupid people who dont stop/yield at side like that... so i think u need to reread some things before you ASSUME u were right and we were wrong cuz you are the one who misunderstood the [point being made... I have wondered about this issue several times in the past several months as I moved.

From my past experience, your's may differ, its just sloppyness on Canada Post 's end as for the return to sender. For about the first six months, I was getting other peoples mail, with COMPLETE addresses on them, but delivered to the wrong street (usually the same number as my place, but the next block over). Usually about once a week. It just made me curious to know where my mail was going and how many others were in the same boat. After pointing it out to the carrier twice and numerous notes on the envelope that stated what happened, it seemed to help as I haven't had any problems lately. Just for the record, I have lived in my previous address for 6 1/2 years and maybe had that problem 2 or three times

sorry but when i have a parcel due to arrive in 5-10 business days, and 25 days later the lady i ordered from says that it was returned because of no such address, and then when shes sends it back in the same package, same RIGHT address, and ANOTHER 20 days passes till I get a call the shipper saying that canada post is saying that its sitting at there place because no one came to the door when they knocked, something is effed up! no note left of my door, no calls, NOTHING. must be nice to "work" there. On the other hand, shame on the HARPER government for putting there nose where it doesnt belong and forcing them to take LESS than they make now.

All right people, let me tell you how it works...If you have the same house number as someone else and you have the same carrier, the mail might get missorted from time to time, that's life. Put the mail vertically in the mailbox with a note for the carrier and hopefully they will be more mindful when sorting it into their case. Here is why your mail gets sent back, incomplete address is most common. If you are in a apartment this happens often. The sender doesn't always put the apt #. Carriers aren't paid to guess or look your name up in a phonebook so if the sender leaves the apt# out it automatically goes back to the sender. This goes for parcels as well. And there is absolutely no way a parcel will go back unless the address is NSA(no such address) or INC(address incomplete). Believe me a carrier will get in deep with a supervisor if they try to pull this.
Fluctuations on mail delivery times happen depending on the amount of mail your carrier got that day. SO DON'T WAIT AROUND OR SET YOUR CLOCK BY THE TIME HE/SHE GET THERE.

Why call the Councilors? They have clearly proven to the citizens of PA that they can not make decisions on their own. They are to busy trying to make the Mayor look good and without realizing they are making themselves look like total dumbasses in the meantime.

The A.J.F.H. is facility that does have some merit to exist. This being said, it should not be placed on a higher priority than the other more extreme and relevant issues needed to be done by the City.The laughable and prepubescent way in which our City Managers operate with their delusions of grandeur and of self importance will ensure these types of issues needed to be addressed for the City will surely be left to fall on deaf.....................and dumb ears.

They are designed for pedestrians. The light stays green because senors in the ground know there's more cars and lets them through. I agree that it cam be confusing, but I'm happy when I get to drive through anyway. From my experience, this only happens on 2nd Ave West and 22nd Street... though there is one light in cornerstone that counts down and then turns back into a walk sign.

We have enough people already slowing down for green lights. Ignore the timer, it's not intended for you.

There is one. It's just not posted on the City's website. I remember when it came out. I thought it was daft, to be honest. Seems to me as it was filed under "obstructing the normal flow of traffic" or something ridiculous like that. That would have been passed in late 90s, early 00s because my kids were still in grade school.

Interesting....would like to be kept up to date on this.....They are used in the rural areas and we stop both directions when the lights and arms are in use. I have stopped many times and it is not inconvenient at all and we are stopping on a highway.

We live in the city, and the school bus picks up our kids every morning.

They use the stop sign arm and the red flashing lights every morning.

Someone from the city should take note of Kinistino's paddling pool.....so clean, very well groomed and safe! They actually have concrete around and then nice green space for the parents/guardians to sit right in the area with the kids. I did see people working on the Kinsmen paddling pool's grounds but it was getting pretty gross up till then. You were standing in tall weeds and mud all around the pool.

I have a spray park! In my back yard!! Nobody else has to pay the taxes for it, I just pay the water bill
not a big deal considering, kids and friends alike are having fun. They have no need to worry about other kids pushing them out, no worry about glass, rocks, sticks or other dangerous items. Have yourself a wet afternoon, I know my kids will.

now that my grandson will be 3 next summer, I'll have one set up in my front yard!
