3601 S Lituanica Ave Chicago, IL
ISSUE CLOSED: Owner has cut down all the weeds on this lot.
MORE PROGRESS: I was able to get in contact with the property owner through his real estate agent. The owner has sent some people to cut the high weeds. They worked on Friday, July 29th and are back working again today, Monday, August 1.
PROGRESS: On July 26th, a crew with the Dept of Streets and Sanitation came by to cut the high weeds AROUND this fenced in lot and along the sidewalk.
The supervisor told me they cannot go onto the fenced area; however, he was writing up a fine for the owner today. He told me he would come by weekly to issue new fines until this owner took care of the weeds in the large fenced lot at this location.
On July 25th, I made a 3rd report of this lot to 311.
On July 19th, I made a 2nd report of this lot to 311.
On June 28th, I made my 1st report of this lot to 311.
On June 17th, I reported this lot to Alderman Balcer's office.
This overgrown lot is next to Donovan Park. The weeds are 6 ft tall or higher. This lot is 2-3 blocks away from Alderman Balcer's office.
Why are the owners allowed to leave this lot in this condition, especially next to the park? It sends the wrong message about the neighborhood.
The lot was left like this last year, as well.
I am not a native of Chicago or Bridgeport but the grown up lots and trash really bother me. I want people to feel proud of this neighborhood.
Why is there so much trash everywhere? I think the overgrown lots contribute to the trash problem because they give the impression that we don't care about the neighborhood.
There are grown up lots on 3 sides of our building, which is maintained nicely. Why should we be forced to live next to these lots? Are the owners of these lots ever held accountable?
